Counselors advocating for counselors

As counselors, we have been adocating for others for years and it's time to start advocating for ourselves. Counselors face low reimbursement rates by insurance companies, which can impact counselor retention and deter new providers from ever entering the field.

The Insurance Advocacy Committee, operating under the Ohio Counseling Asssociation, wants to hear from you!

Every story you share adds weight to our cause. Together, we can advocate for fair compensation that reflects the value of our profession. Share your experiences with the Insurance Advocacy Committee and stand up for fair reimbursement rates today!

Together, we can ensure that counselors are properly valued for their vital work in promoting mental health and well-being. The Insurance Advocacy Committe meets virtually the second Monday of every month. We would love to have you on our team! Please reach out to our Chair, Dr. Derek Lee, at derek.lee@thehopeinstitute.net if you would like a link for our meetings.
